The Four Cardinal Points
Action and Recognition in the Horizontal Direction
The Four Cardinal Points (forward, backward, left, right) as Directions of Action and Recognition
The directions of recognition and action are yielded by our visual recognition (essential for dream images) and by our hands as organs of action. These directions have different qualities:
Forward: The area of seeing and therefore the direction of recognition as well as the direction of action. (Moving forward and manual activities for which we need to see the objects.) This direction is assigned to the day.
Backward: The direction in which we cannot see and also cannot act. What happens behind our backs stays hidden from our eyes. In this direction we are defenseless what gives this region a threatening touch. This direction is assigned to the night.
Right: The laterally directions are intermediate regions. Due to the fact that most of us are right handed the right direction is assigned to the movement. This region is assigned to the dusk.
Left: This intermediate region is assigned to the feelings. (An intermediate region of perception is an area of divine; left receptive, right semiconscious acting)
