Depressions

There exist multiple causes for depressions. They can be roughly classified into medical and psychic causes. Depressions with medical background can mostly only be overcome through medicaments and nutritional supplements. In those cases, the reason for the depressions is a lack of certain neurotransmitters such as serotonin.

There are two basical reasons for this lack of neurotransmitters:

  • genetical cause
  • cerebral disorder caused by drug use

Another medical reason are sometimes various nutrient deficiencies; especially vitamin D, vitamin B12 and iron deficiencies can cause or at least intensify depressions.

The other form – depressions with psychic causes – are very diverse. There are so many individually different backgrounds that I can only mention a few forms of depression. In this chapter, I will especially focus on practical advices, on the connection between depressions and the modern society, and on transcendental aspects of depression. Both of the latter topics are strongly connected to mediumistic abilities.
